Isabel Cheng is the Chief Marketing Officer with Wildlife Reserves Singapore, the parent company of Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Jurong Bird Park and River Safari.
Her career spanned from banking to advertising in Malaysia and Singapore and her last position with Philips Electronics regional office was the Director of Marketing and PR for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Isabel joined Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) in 2004 and was part of the leadership team tasked to drive WRS to be commercially self-sustainable in 2 years. She was responsible for successfully steering away from traditional zoo marketing and increasing the tourist attendance ratio from 20% to 40% today with a total attendance of almost 5 million across the 4 parks.
Isabel is responsible for growing the revenue, driving and overseeing marketing, branding, sales, partnerships and communication efforts to achieve WRS’s growth targets.
Gaurav Gupta joined Kimberly Clark as Marketing Director for the ASEAN region in early 2014. In his current role he is responsible for Innovation Development, Digital Marketing and Marketing Talent & Capability Development for Kimberly Clark in ASEAN. Prior to joining Kimberly Clark, Gaurav was with Procter & Gamble. Gaurav has more than 11 years’ experience in Consumer Goods Marketing across South & South East Asia working across many billion dollar brands in the Beauty & Personal Care Categories in both Regional as well as Local capacity. Gaurav has also been spear heading Digital & Marketing Capability Development for his organizations.
In his current role, Ivan drives the PR, social media, brand marketing, advertising and corporate reputation programmes for Changi Airport and CAG in Singapore and overseas. Serving more than 54 million passengers each year and over 100 airlines, Changi Airport’s stakeholders are many and varied. Ivan and his team have the unique challenge of communicating with them across multiple platforms and round-the-clock.
Prior to joining CAG, Ivan was Deputy Managing Director at the Singapore office of Weber Shandwick. At the agency, he counselled Singapore blue chips as well as supported the successful bid by Genting International for the Sentosa integrated resort license. Ivan started his career at SingTel where he was Director (Corporate Communications) for six years.
Clarence has deep expertise in brand development and ROI-focused marketing. He is passionate about building brand equity with a solid process that matches business strategy, consumer insights and creative flair.
Clarence is privileged to have worked on a portfolio of high profile blue-chip brands, including Singapore’s global tourism brand – Uniquely Singapore & YourSingapore.com, and The Ritz-Carlton Residences – its first in Asia.
Over the past decade, Clarence has developed numerous global marketing campaigns, with several notably picking up prestigious industry awards.
Clarence was previously Head of Marketing, APAC, at one of Asia’s leading
e-commerce travel businesses, as well as Head of Marketing & Communications at A*STAR, Asia’s lead agency for Science, Technology & Research.
In his present role, Clarence is responsible for brand activation outcomes, and part of the team that enhances DBS’ corporate reputation through a strategic and integrated focus on marketing, communications and research.
Vaasu Gavarasana leads the digital marketing transformation at AXA Singapore. As a student at Yale in 1990, Gavarasana experienced the internet in its earlier avatar. He has since been involved, actively preaching and practicing digital marketing, even during his days in the traditional agency world.
In 2000, he helped set up Y&R 2.1 Asia, the first integrated online-offline agency in the Asia region. Over the last two decades, Gavarasana has conceptualized and executed large scale integrated brand communication campaigns and experiences across the digital divide in the Asia-Pacific region.
He has worked with some of the world’s famous consumer companies like Unilever, Danone, J&J, MasterCard, Citibank, Nestle, Lufthansa, Ferrero, Panasonic, and Boots (UK). Gavarasana is co-founder of Asia Content Marketing Association (ACMA). He is on the board of Wharton Future of Advertising Program.
Juliana Lim is a highly passionate marketer with many years of consumer marketing experience in FMCG and F&B. Formerly as the Senior Marketing Director of Pizza Hut Singapore, she led the launch of many strategic initiatives for Pizza Hut and has been instrumental to the brand’s success. The many successful campaigns launched over the years have not only won the hearts of the consumers but has also won her accolades from her peers. In 2011, she was recognised with the “Marketer of the Year” Award at the Singapore Media Award event.
Following her 10 years of proven track record at Pizza Hut Singapore, Juliana has moved over to take the helm of the KFC Singapore marketing team from 1st March 2015.
Nicki Kenyon joined Visa in November 2014 and is responsible for leading the company’s efforts to embed digital and social strategies and practices into all marketing and communication activities across Asia Pacific.
Nicki is a multi-dimensional leader with over 20 years’ experience in brand strategy, marketing and management roles across a range of industries, from global corporations to startup companies. She has successfully established new businesses and contributed to the growth of existing ones in Australia and across Asia.
Prior to Visa, Nicki was a Global Business Partner at Facebook. In this role she led the relationships with key global clients including Samsung, Mondelez and Unilever, across Asia Pacific. Previously, she held leadership and change management roles with companies such as AsiaRooms.com, MasterCard and Cathay Pacific Airways. She has also worked for creative advertising agencies (Ogilvy, JWT, TBWA), where she leveraged her strategic marketing experience for global companies such as Singapore Airlines and American Express.
Nicki has held Executive Board positions and is a Singapore committee member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Janis is presently the Head of Marketing at Tigerair, leading the airline’s brand & marketing functions. She has more than a decade of experience in marketing and communications across Asia Pacific, specializing in travel, tourism and ecommerce. She was previously the Head of Marketing for ZUJI Hong Kong, Asia’s leading online travel agent. Prior to ZUJI, She held regional marketing roles in the world’s largest online trend services WGSN.com as well as Macau’s first low cost carrier Viva Macau Airlines, where she became a key member of its start-up team.
Kenny is currently the Country Head of Unilever Network Malaysia and Singapore. Unilever is one of the world’s largest consumer products companies.
He was formerly the Senior Vice President for Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd, one of the top Islamic Insurance companies and was also formerly the Vice President for CNI Holdings Berhad, a public-listed consumer-goods group of companies. Prior to that, Kenny was the Principal Consultant with a multi-national Management Consultancy.
Ms Ho Lee Yen is the Chief Marketing Officer of AIA Singapore, leading the marketing function which includes corporate and marketing communications, digital marketing, product development and customer insights and segmentation. Her role is to reinforce the company’s position as a leading life insurer that champions protection, by helping families in Singapore bridge their underinsurance gap through our innovative and comprehensive solutions. Lee Yen is a qualified actuary with extensive experience in the life insurance industry.
In his role as Vice President Marketing & Strategic Relationships Michael leads the strategic direction for marketing activities across the Asia Pacific region and develops and drives strategic relationships with key Travel Management clients. He is also responsible for Accor’s events portfolio management to ensure a market leadership positioning and to keep all actions aligned with our global brands.
Michael has a passion for the hospitality industry with nearly 20 years of experience across the Asia Pacific region. Having worked for Accor hotels over the last 16 years Michael has operational, brand marketing, sponsorship management and events know-how and has been based in Australia, Thailand and Singapore. Michael has a love for travel with the desire to experience new cultures, traditions and new ways of undertaking business.
Born in the era of the 30-second spot, while growing up with the Internet since its inception, Leon lives and breathes advertising. Being forward planning with a vision for the future, he has a keen sense of identifying obstacles and alternative solutions. As a consequence, he is often at his best when coming up with ideas that must result in executable outcomes. Quite the observer, this also fuels his need to relate and connect the dots, which results in being a linchpin between the digital marketing realm and the real world. Currently, Leon is the Head of Digital & Social Media for HTC South Asia, and has many an award for his clients when he was in the agency world.
Markus L. Keiper has been a professional in the Automotive and Marine and Industrial Industries for almost two decades. Originally from Germany, he started his career at Daimler (Daimler Chrysler, Germany), where he held several positions in Brand Management and General Management within the passenger car and the commercial vehicles divisions of Mercedes-Benz. He went on to spend the past decade in Asia-Pacific where he developed innovative and disruptive marketing and communications approaches for the B2B markets for high tech products. Markus has dedicated his focus to transforming behaviors towards customer centric organizations in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia where he also lived and worked. Markus currently is the Executive Vice President for Global Marketing, Communications and CRM with Rolls-Royce Marine, based in Singapore.
Ms Lynette Ang is currently the Chief Brand & Communications Officer at NTUC Enterprise, the holding entity of all of the NTUC social enterprises. In this role, she will work to harness the power of branding and communications as a collective group. Prior to this, she was Senior Vice President and Head, Strategic Marketing & Communications, of NTUC Income. Her responsibilities included driving the company’s branding, marketing and communication strategy. She joined NTUC Income in 2007 and in the six years she has been with NTUC Income, she has held several other responsibilities including overseeing sales and customer intelligence.
Prior to joining NTUC Income, Ms Ang was the Marketing Director of APL (Part of the NOL group) for more than five years, with global responsibilities for branding and marketing.
Ms Ang has more than 20 years’ experience in branding and marketing, with her early years grounded in top-flight multi-nationals such as Coca-Cola and Unilever.
She subsequently moved on to become one of the pioneers of the standalone e-Bank, finatiq.com, that was set up by OCBC. In her capacity as Chief Marketing Officer of finatiq.com, she built up the outfit from a non-entity into a highly recognizable brand in a short span of time.
Ms Ang graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Quentin has been overseeing Club Med’s marketing strategy in ESAP (East South Asia Pacific) since 2013, defining the strategic vision and overall marketing plan throughout the region. He is also responsible for identifying emerging markets, driving business growth in areas such as Singapore and Malaysia as well as running a team of country managers across Southeast Asia.
A graduate of the University of Paris-Sud, where he studied management and administration, he joined Club Med as European Marketing Coordinator in 2004 before going on to become marketing and commercial director for Belgium and Luxembourg in 2007. While in that role, he successfully repositioned Club Med’s target market while implementing bold new sales techniques. These included focusing on partnerships with high-end travel chains and coming up with initiatives aimed at building strong relationships and winning repeat business.
In 2010, he took over as general manager for Australia and New Zealand, where he re-launched Club Med and achieved a remarkable 40% growth in business with new customers visiting international Club Med destinations. He also managed to develop successful sales strategies for targeting a new demographic of customers.
In his spare time he enjoys music, hiking, making videos and is committed to healthy living.
Ms Margaret Chime is currently the Vice President of Group Digital Marketing at Great Eastern Life and has regional responsibility as a Project Director for Great Eastern Group of Companies’ Digital & Online Presences Transformation Programme.
Prior to this role, she has led several online projects, from digital strategy to implementation, for Standard Chartered Bank’s High Net Worth and SME Segments. She has also led the Standard Chartered Bank Corporate Web Site Revamp on the global level.
Margaret brings with her over 15 years of experience in the digital space and has held various other responsibilities such as customer experience, brand, digital analytics, and media across the region from both the agency side and client side.
